Martyn Harris is a professional artist with over 40 years of experience, specializing in realist portraiture and landscape painting.​​ ​​His artistic journey began under professional mentorship at an early age, leading him to develop a style that captures the essence of his subjects with directness, purpose, and sensitivity.​​ ​​Drawing inspiration from nature, Martyn employs both classical and experimental techniques, underpinned by a rigorous work ethic.

Martyn's dedication to his craft is evident in his active participation in various art societies.​​ ​​He is a resident artist at The Art Yard, an elected Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (ARBSA), and a member of the Birmingham Art Circle.​​ ​​His work has been showcased at esteemed venues such as the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and The Mall Galleries.​​ ​​Notably, his pieces were selected for The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries in 2022, 2023 and 2024.​​ In 2025 his work      “Memories” was the winner of Third Prize in the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery in London and Winner of the Visitors' Choice Award.
